Postgraduate Diploma in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers
Program Objectives
This program aims to achieve the following:
1- To provide students with a high level of knowledge and skills in Arabic language and literature, commensurate with a postgraduate diploma.
2- To develop students' four Arabic language skills (speaking, listening, writing, and reading).
3- To provide students with a foundation in Arabic and Islamic culture.
4- To equip students with self-learning skills in the field of Arabic.
Target Audience:
1- Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers.
2- Holders of a Bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies (Conversion Program).
Admission Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers or in Islamic Studies (Conversion Program).
Study Plan:
1- The program consists of two semesters, each lasting ten weeks.
2- The total number of credit hours for the program is 24.
3. The total number of credit hours per semester is twelve.
- The study plan includes writing a research paper.
Teaching Methods and Tools:
Lectures, seminars, discussion groups, oral and written exercises, and reading and discussing selected lessons from classical Arabic linguistic, grammatical, and literary texts.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to:
- Communicate in Arabic, both written and spoken, at a high level appropriate for a postgraduate diploma.
- Pursue graduate studies in Arabic and enroll in a Master's program in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers.
- Teach Arabic to non-native speakers.
- Translate texts from Arabic into their native language and vice versa.
- Proofread Arabic texts for linguistic accuracy.
- Discuss aspects of Arab and Islamic culture.
- Acquire further knowledge of the Arabic language through self-study. 8- Determining the student's specific area of specialization based on the title of their research paper.
Program Certificate:
Upon completion of the program, the student is awarded a postgraduate diploma in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers.
